I thought the only mammal comfortable with surfing in the cold water was a seal, but that could not be further from the truth! lol
This past November, Evan MacDonald a member of our Canadian Military, enjoyed some beginner waves for the first time at Melmerby beach with local, Aaron Mackay.
All you need is a decent wetsuit, board, and the strength to be ok with cold water splashing in your face. Awe, there is nothing like the ocean to soothe the soul.
I think Isak Dinesen said it best with his quote, “The cure for anything is salt water, sweat, tears or the sea.” This couldn’t be truer than here in Canada's Oceans Playground.
