A place of beauty, but be careful

PARKS FALLS, Pictou County – A place of beauty, but be careful

We recently received this beautiful winter photo from Michele. When we asked her if she had any comments, thoughts, feelings, or words to include with the photo, she paused for a moment and replied, “It’s a place of beauty, but can be a place of danger too.”

Curious, I asked her why she felt that way. She shared, “I have only been to this place twice.  I found it very beautiful but very scary at the same time. My uncles saved a friend of theirs back in the '70s when he dove in and broke his neck. So as much as it is very beautiful you need to have your wits about you and be very careful.”

I thought a moment of the situation.  How the friend must have felt, what her uncles must have felt, and how scared they would have been at that moment.

I believe this quote by Abraham Lincoln expresses it perfectly, “Next to creating a life, the finest thing a man can do is save one.” ❤
