RECENTLY OPENED - WiredVillage Games in downtown Pictou
Many of us have fond memories of our childhood sitting around the table playing board games, especially on long winter nights. Little did we know we were not just having fun, we were creating lasting memories. One local businessman is working hard to bring back those experiences to families in Pictou County.
Brian has always had a love of games, “Growing up here in Pictou, we played Dungeons and Dragons and on the occasional weekend we would have a feisty game of Risk,” he grinned. After a 10-year career in I.T., Brian’s attention shifted to business where he ran an online store on Amazon for 10-years focusing on toys. He shared, “Exposed to games again, I started playing and researching this hobby. Making a game store was the next logical step, so I opened the store on Water Street.”
He added, “Modern hobby board gaming is exploding with new ideas and games in the last 10-20 years. We are looking to help expand and service this hobby in Pictou County.” That is great I thought to myself. We could all benefit from spending more quality time with family and friends offline.
Brian shared one last comment that I thought was interesting. “We currently have 3 generations of Vienneaus assisting customers with their gaming needs: my mom, my son, and myself. It really is a family business.”
