If you are traveling the 104 Trans Canada west of Exit 27 toward New Glasgow, you may see something in the field grazing that you may not have seen in person before – Bison!
Yes, there is Bison in Pictou County!
There is a farm in Linacy where they are raised and what an incredible sight it is to see. Next time you are driving by the area, keep your eyes open for them as they often come close to the side of the highway by the fence.
Fun Fact: A Bison has poor eyesight but a very keen sense of smell. They can smell an animal three kilometers away!
